Episode 4: This is the Legend of an Olympic Swim Coach - Byron MacDonald

Join Amos Vang as he interviews Byron MacDonald, a former Olympic swimmer, longtime swimming head coach of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, an award-winning Olympic sportscaster, and former coach of world champion swimmer Kylie Masse!

 In this episode, Byron and Amos talk about Byron’s journey competing against the best swimmers in the world (including the great Mark Spitz), his decades-long career as a coach, the lessons he learned from coaching hundreds of swimmers over the years, and the most important lessons he learned from his longtime career.

 Byron also tells unique stories of his experiences announcing the world’s greatest swimmers, including Michael Phelps’s historic 8-gold-medal run at the 2008 Olympics.  Byron also explains how Michael Phelps was able to out-touch Michael Cavic in the Men’s 100-metre butterfly at the 2008 Olympics and how Phelps solidified his 8-gold medal run.
